FCA plans to deepen their ties with China's Guangzhou Group by developing a sales, marketing and product organization alliance. Of course with everyone and their mother moving into China like its cool this is perhaps unsurprising, however FCA is lagging behind major rivals.
FCA sold 130,000 cars in China during 2013 while VW and GM each moved north of 3 million, EACH.
In an effort to better understand the Chinese consumer and their preferences a deeper tie in with GAC was needed, giving them more responsibility in terms of product planning, sales and marketing of the large 3 FCA brands, Jeep, Chrysler and FIAT.
John Kett, GM of FCA Asia Pacific pegs the agreement to grow sales in China to upwards of 750,000 by 2018.
