Chrysler 100 may be based on Fiat Aegea concept

TFLcar reports that the 2017 Chrysler 100 may be based on the Fiat Aegea concept. Engine choices are likely to mimic the Dodge Dart. A nine-speed automatic will definitely be offered and a six-speed manual may also be offered, "but it's a low priority for FCA."

Still no official information from FCA right now, but we expect more details over the next few months.

I'm not sure what they're up to. The 100 was supposed to be out by now as it was spposed to coincide with reworking the Dart, which keeps getting pushed back...

The company has postponed a full redesign of the Dart and the Dodge Journey crossover, both of which had been scheduled for mid-2016. Instead, both models will get a mild makeover, but may not be fully overhauled until 2019-2020, suppliers said.

OK, so a little bit of research turns up that the Dart was originally an Alfa Giulietta, then the Dart went back over to Turkey to become the Aegea... Interesting if FCA will just truck this over as the new dart and 100 simultaniously...

That Fiat actually looks good.
I wouldn't mind if they pulled some cues from that.

Well the Dart is a US exclusive model so new The 100 will likely stay NA exclusive as well. FIAT seems to want the brand recognition outside of NA. Which isn't really a bad thing as FIAT carries more cache globally then Chrysler IMO...

If it comes to market looking like that, it will at least win in the looks department.

Seeing it in the flesh also helps to get a greater sense of proportions, and overall how it will be in person once we get that opportunity and so far here's what I have found:
